Senior Engineer EV Traction Motor Design, Development, Analysis & Simulation

Location: - Olectra Plant, Seetharampur.

Experience:-
5 to 6 years of experience in EV traction motor, design, development, simulation and sizing for automotive applications.

Education
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Machines, Electrical Drives.

Key Responsibilities
Perform traction motor sizing based on vehicle performance requirements, including acceleration, gradeability, top speed, and drive cycles.
Design,develop, and optimize PMSM and Induction Motors (IM) for electric buses, trucks, and commercial EVs.
Develop motor specifications, including torque-speed characteristics, efficiency maps, power ratings, and thermal limits.
Perform electromagnetic, thermal,



and mechanical simulations to optimize motor performance and reliability.
Collaborate with inverter, motor controller, gearbox, and vehicle integration teams for complete EV powertrain development.
Support prototype development, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production readiness.

Technical Skills
EV motor sizing and performance calculations.
PMSM & Induction Motor (IM) design.
Electromagnetic, thermal, and NVH analysis.
Motor efficiency mapping and optimization.
MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, Altair Flux, or equivalent simulation tools.
Knowledge of traction inverters, FOC, automotive standards, and DVP&R.;
