Job Summary

The FibroScan Technician is responsible for performing FibroScan (Transient Elastography) procedures to assess liver stiffness and fatty liver disease. The role involves preparing patients, operating the FibroScan equipment, ensuring accurate scan acquisition, maintaining equipment, documenting results, and supporting gastroenterologists/hepatologists in delivering quality diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities
Perform FibroScan (Transient Elastography) examinations as per physician orders and established protocols.
Verify patient identity, explain the procedure, and obtain informed cooperation.
Prepare patients and ensure proper positioning for accurate scan acquisition.
Operate and maintain the FibroScan machine according to manufacturer guidelines.
Select the appropriate probe (M, XL, or S) based on patient requirements, where applicable.
Ensure high-quality and reliable scan results by following standard operating procedures.
Record and document scan findings accurately in the Hospital Information System (HIS) or EMR.
Assist gastroenterologists/hepatologists during patient evaluation when required.




Monitor equipment performance and report any technical issues promptly.
Perform routine cleaning, calibration checks, and preventive maintenance coordination.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to infection prevention and control practices.
Coordinate appointments and manage patient workflow efficiently.
Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, and safety protocols.
Maintain departmental records, logs, and quality documentation.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental training programs.

Qualifications
B.Sc. in Allied Health Sciences / Medical Imaging Technology / Life Sciences or
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) / Allied Health Sciences.
Certification or hands-on training in FibroScan/Transient Elastography is preferred.

Experience
13 years of experience as a FibroScan Technician, Gastro Technician, Ultrasound Assistant, or Diagnostic Technician.
Freshers with certified FibroScan training may also be considered
