Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager Pharmacy Purchase is responsible for managing the procurement of pharmaceutical products, surgical consumables, and medical supplies for the hospital. The role ensures timely procurement, cost optimization, vendor management, inventory availability, and compliance with NABH standards while maintaining uninterrupted patient care.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute the procurement of medicines, surgical items, implants, and consumables.
Ensure uninterrupted availability of pharmacy stock across all hospital departments.
Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize purchase orders with approved vendors.
Develop and maintain robust relationships with pharmaceutical companies and distributors.
Monitor stock levels, reorder points, and inventory movement to avoid stock-outs and overstocking.
Coordinate with pharmacy, stores, finance, and clinical departments for procurement planning.
Track pending purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Verify purchase invoices, GRN and vendor bills.
Monitor expiry management and ensure timely replacement or return of near-expiry medicines.
Ensure compliance with NABH, statutory regulations,



and hospital procurement policies.
Prepare procurement reports, purchase analysis, vendor performance reports, and cost-saving initiatives.
Support annual budgeting and cost control activities.
Resolve vendor-related issues including shortages, damages, quality concerns, and delayed deliveries.
Lead and guide the pharmacy purchase team to achieve departmental objectives.

Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) / Master's in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) preferred.
MBA in Supply Chain or Hospital Management is an added advantage.

Experience
3 - 8 years of experience in pharmacy procurement or hospital purchase.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant managerial role in a multi-specialty hospital.
