Role Objective:

The Costing Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, bidding for recent waterproofing projects, negotiating with clients and suppliers, and supporting contract finalization to secure profitable projects for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Tendering & Estimation
Study tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs for waterproofing projects.
Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, overheads, and margins.
Develop rate analysis for various waterproofing systems and treatments.
Identify project risks and cost implications during bid preparation.

Bidding & Proposal Preparation
Prepare competitive techno-commercial bids in coordination with technical and sales teams.
Liaise with vendors and suppliers to obtain material quotations.
Ensure timely submission of bids and compliance with tender requirements.

Negotiation & Contract Support
Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and scope with clients and consultants.
Support contract finalization and handover to project execution team.

Cost Control & Data Management
Maintain cost databases, historical project costing, and material price trends.
Assist in post-bid reviews and cost benchmarking.




Provide budget inputs to project teams after award.

Coordination
Coordinate with design, execution, procurement, and finance departments.
Support business development team with pricing strategies.

Required Skills & Competencies:
Solid knowledge of waterproofing systems, materials, and application methods.
Proficiency in estimation and costing for construction projects.
Ability to interpret drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
Positive negotiation and communication skills.
Working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software.
Commercial awareness and market knowledge of waterproofing industry.

Educational Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.

Preferred Candidate Profile:
5+ years experience in costing and tendering for waterproofing or specialized construction works.
Experience in handling institutional, commercial, or infrastructure waterproofing projects.
Proven ability to close bids through effective pricing and negotiation.
