Role & responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Analysis
Perform detailed cost estimation for precision machining components and tooling.
Develop cost models covering:
CNC Turning, VMC (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis machining)
Welding processes, Laser cutting & Waterjet cutting
Special processes (surface treatments, heat treatment, coatings, etc.)
Analyze BOMs, drawings, and manufacturing processes to derive accurate cost breakdowns.
Evaluate cycle times, material utilization, tooling, and machine rates.
Interpret engineering drawings (GD&T;), tolerances, and aerospace standards.
Identify cost reduction prospects through: Process optimization, Alternate manufacturing routes, Design-for-cost inputs
Experience in supplier negotiations and cost validation
Proficiency in:
Excel-based cost models
ERP/MRP systems (preferred)

Supplier Management & Negotiation




Work closely with suppliers to:
Validate and benchmark quotations
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and cost breakdown transparency
Develop and maintain a should-cost model to support negotiations.
Build robust relationships with machining vendors, fabrication suppliers, and special process providers.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with:
Engineering (Design & Manufacturing), Procurement, Production teams
Drive cost improvement initiatives across suppliers and internal processes.
Maintain updated databases of: Machine rates, Material costs, Standard process costs
Support value engineering and cost reduction programs.
