Position: Lab Assistant

Qualification:

- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline from a recognized University/Institute.

Experience:

- Relevant experience in handling biotechnology laboratory equipment and supporting laboratory operations in an academic or research institution will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist faculty members in conducting laboratory practicals, experiments, and demonstrations.
- Prepare laboratory materials, reagents, cultures, and equipment required for practical classes and research activities.
- Operate, maintain, and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the laboratory.
- Monitor and manage laboratory consumables, chemicals, glassware, and equipment inventory.
- Maintain laboratory records, stock registers,



equipment logbooks, and other laboratory documentation.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of biological samples, chemicals, and laboratory waste in accordance with prescribed safety guidelines.
- Provide technical assistance to students, faculty members, and researchers in laboratory-related activities.
- Support departmental research projects and other academic activities as assigned.

Skills Required:

- Knowledge of biotechnology laboratory techniques, equipment, and laboratory safety practices.
- Valuable communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
