Role: Founding Product Designer

About the Company

InCommon is hiring on behalf of a seed-stage consumer fintech building an AI-first personal finance app for India - a premium, conversational alternative to the dashboard products that dominate the category. The thesis is that most people don't deploy their money well, not because the information is missing, but because it's buried in charts that assume you already know what to look for. The product reads a user's full financial context and tells them what matters, proactively.

What You'll Do

- Own the end-to-end design language for a mobile-first product
- Design chat-native and conversational interfaces that don't feel like a chatbot bolted onto an app
- Solve for proactive communication - how the product reaches out with something practical without becoming noise
- Design the surfaces around agent behaviour: what the user sees when the system is thinking, acting,



or uncertain
- Audit and evolve the existing alpha front end into a documented design system as the team grows

What We're Looking For

- 3-6 years in product design with consumer products, ideally including a zero-to-one launch
- Experience with chat-native or AI-native interfaces, agent harnesses, or proactive/notification-driven product surfaces
- Mobile-first instincts - this product will likely never have a desktop app
- A portfolio that shows thinking, not just final screens - we'll ask about decisions that didn't work and what you changed

Strong Plus

- Experience with iOS Live Activities or similar native live state surfaces
- Experience designing for financial products specifically, even outside formal employment (personal projects count)
