At Careflick, we’re building technology designed to support older adults and their families. We’re now working on a new device and we’re looking for a talented Industrial Design Intern to help us take it from concept to a manufacturable product.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll work closely with our founding/product team and engineers to design the physical product and help prepare it for prototyping and manufacturing.
What you’ll work on:
• Explore and develop the wearable’s form factor, ergonomics and physical design
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and mechanical designs
• Design the enclosure and internal packaging around PCB, battery, sensors, buttons, speakers/mics and other components
• Develop prototypes and iterate based on testing and feedback
• Think through materials, finishes, assembly, tolerances and manufacturability
• Apply DFM/DFA principles, including considerations for injection molding and production
• Prepare STEP/STL files, drawings, exploded views,
CMF specifications and other documentation for manufacturing handoff
• Work with engineers and our manufacturing partners to iterate toward production
Who we’re looking for:
• Student/recent graduate in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Solid hands-on experience with Solid Works, Fusion 360, Creo, Onshape or similar CAD tools
• Understanding of mechanical design and rapid prototyping
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC and 3D printing
• Strong sense of ergonomics, materials and product aesthetics
• Ability to move quickly from sketches → CAD → physical prototype → iteration
If you’ve designed a physical product around real electronics - PCB, battery, sensors, speakers, buttons, etc. - we’d especially love to see your work.
