- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Support patients with mobility and transfers (walking, wheelchair assistance, repositioning)
- Help in feeding and meal assistance, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain patient hygiene and cleanliness of rooms and surroundings
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Observe and report any changes in patient behaviour or condition to the nurse in charge
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure setting for patients
- Support nursing staff during routine care activities
- Accompany patients for walks, therapy sessions, or appointments when required
- Assist in basic housekeeping tasks related to patient care
Requirements
- Experience in patient care / elderly care / psychiatric care preferred
- Ability to handle patients with patience and empathy
- Basic understanding of hygiene and safety practices
- Good communication skills (Malayalam required; basic English preferred)
- Physically fit to assist with patient movement
Work Environment
- Psychiatric residential care setting
- Rotational shifts including night duty
- Work under supervision of registered nurses and clinical team
