The Manager, Product & Enginnering leads a team of engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and operating enterprise-scale Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL/NoSQL) that support T-Mobiles application platforms. This role provides both strategic and operational leadership to ensure that systems are secure, reliable, and automated at scale. The Manager partners closely with senior technical leaders and business stakeholders to define platform strategy, optimize processes, and deliver innovative solutions that align with T-Mobiles goals.

The Manager, Systems Architecture will oversee a team of engineers and senior engineers, providing guidance on automation, patching, and systems management across various database environments/platforms. This leader is responsible for talent development, performance management, and ensuring technical excellence within the team.

What Youll Do:

- Lead and manage a team of DBAs, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the architecture, automation, and operation of enterprise database environments.
- Oversee system design, deployment, patching, and compliance initiatives to ensure security, reliability, and scalability.
- Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align system architecture initiatives with organizational goals.




- Drive standardization and modernization of system engineering practices through automation and infrastructure-as-code principles.
- Manage team performance, provide mentorship, and develop growth opportunities plans for engineers and senior engineers.
- Ensure system monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning strategies are effectively implemented.
- Oversee technical documentation, process improvements, and incident management.
- Manage project priorities, budgets, and resource planning to meet operational and strategic objectives.
- Perform additional duties and leadership initiatives as assigned.

What Youll Bring:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; Masters degree preferred.
- 810 years of experience in Database System engineering, including at least 3 years of people or team leadership experience.
- Proven track record leading enterprise-level systems engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with automation using Ansible for configuration management and patch orchestration.
- Strong understanding of system security, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to drive strategic initiatives while managing operational excellence.
