Job Description: An Accountant/Sr. Accountant job description involves managing and analyzing financial records, preparing financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and overseeing accounting operations. Duties include budget management, account reconciliations, assisting with tax filings and audits, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making. Sr. Accountants often manage junior staff and require advanced skills in Excel and accounting software, along with a strong understanding of financial forecasting and internal controls. Key Responsibilities

- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Account Management: Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Analysis & Forecasting: Analyze financial data, track budgets, and create financial forecasts to predict future performance.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), internal accounting policies,



and relevant financial laws.
- Audits: Support and coordinate with internal and external auditors, preparing necessary documentation.
- Taxation: Handle tax-related duties, including preparing and filing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax laws.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Management & Training: Mentor and oversee junior accounting staff, and assist in setting departmental goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is typically required.
- Certifications: A CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is often preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, and proficiency with accounting software.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in recording, verifying, and reporting financial transactions.
