About the RoleThe Policy Manager – Rural Lending is responsible for overseeing the risk performance and policy framework of the Rural portfolio. This includes reviewing acquisition and portfolio management policies, monitoring risk trends, and ensuring portfolio growth aligns with the Bank’s risk appetite. The role involves close coordination with control functions and stakeholders such as Business Risk, Product, Audit, Analytics, Operations, and Technology to ensure timely and effective delivery of projects and processes.Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary ResponsibilitiesReview and approve product programs and credit policies for Rural Loan products.Monitor and evaluate application scorecards and risk models specific to the Rural Loan products.Conduct deep-dive portfolio analysis and initiate risk mitigation actions when necessary.Manage regulatory interactions and represent the risk function in relevant committees and forums.Ensure adherence to internal guidelines and regulatory standards.Oversee statutory and internal audits related to Rural products.Govern board-level policies,
including their renewal and compliance.Develop early warning mechanisms to detect and respond to emerging risks.Track macroeconomic developments and integrate insights into business strategies.Provide strategic guidance to business teams to align processes with the Bank’s overall risk and growth objectives.Share best practices and insights across the team to foster continuous improvement.Secondary ResponsibilitiesRecommend enhancements to processes and policies to improve operational efficiency and customer service quality.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to leverage synergies across functions.Stay updated on global market trends and competitor strategies in key segments.What We Are Looking ForEducationGraduation: Any discipline.Post-graduation: MBA or equivalent qualification in Rural Management, Finance, Risk, or related fields.Experience5-7 years of relevant experience in Credit Risk Policy or Portfolio Management preferably in Rural products like JLG, KCC and Agri products.Skills and AttributesStrong understanding of Credit risk, scorecard management, and portfolio analytics.Proven ability to manage regulatory interactions and audits.Strategic thinking with a focus on risk mitigation and business alignment.Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.Ability to interpret macroeconomic indicators and translate them into actionable strategies.Solid communication, leadership, and decision-making capabilities.Commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.
