Summary
The Application Engineer, Workforce Management Technical Cloud will design, implement and deploy Oracle solutions to achieve defined business goals. Maintain skills in Oracle applications process design and configuration; Oracle application design, development, integration, testing and deployment; and Oracle application technical architecture.
Provide advanced technical system knowledge and support for Oracle Cloud HCM, acting as the internal technical Subject Matter Expert (SME). This includes understanding business requirements and leading application design, configuration/development, testing, and advanced end-user support. Provide technical support and demonstrate a solid understanding of the oracle solutions architecture, tables, data flows, and how they relate to the supported business applications. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
Core responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead the design, configuration, and administration of Oracle HCM Cloud, including building integrations,
data conversions, Quick Formulas, reports, and extensions across Absence, Payroll, and Time and Labor.
- Design and develop innovative solutions by leveraging AI Agents to automate and enhance HCM processes and employee experience.
- Manage data integration and security for extended PaaS (Platform as a Service) applications based on business needs.
- Partner with third-party systems and vendors on integration with Oracle HCM Cloud.
- Own the end-to-end process for data cleansing and conversion, coordinating closely with source system owners.
- Design, develop, and support solutions using Oracle Workflows and personalization via VBCS.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on which Oracle Cloud tool to use for reporting, analytics, BI Publisher reports, extracts, integrations, and data conversions.
- Support user role design to ensure appropriate controls and segregation of duties.
- Deliver production and ad-hoc reporting, along with interface solutions, to address complex business requirements using a variety of reporting tools.
- Evaluate incoming requirements for downstream impact — including conflicts, data integrity, risk, and user experience — and configure applications to enable the desired outcomes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across supported applications, engaging Oracle Support and other technical resources as needed.
- Support testing of patches, upgrades, reports,
new configurations, and workflows; perform regression testing during Oracle releases.
- Lead technical unit testing efforts.
- Provide Tier 1, 2, and 3 support as needed.
- Partner closely with functional teams to ensure systems are designed for optimal performance and usability.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required experiences and competencies include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle HCM Cloud modules as a technical systems analyst or developer.
- Solid understanding of Oracle HCM's underlying tables, data structures, integration points, and technology processes.
- Expert-level proficiency in Oracle Fusion Fast Formulas, with depth in Absence and Time and Labor.
- Hands-on knowledge and experience developing and deploying AI Agent solutions within Oracle HCM Cloud or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven experience in data analysis and data verification.
- Exposure to US and Canada localizations is a plus.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively on high-impact, cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with teams across multiple countries.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong customer-service mindset and commitment to quality.
