Interprets blueprints, measures raw materials, and assembles metal components using cutting, grinding, and welding equipment. They are responsible for aligning parts to exact tolerances, ensuring structural integrity, and maintaining safety standards on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

- Blueprint Reading: Analyze engineering drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine exact material specifications and assembly sequences.
- Material Preparation: Measure, mark, cut, drill, and shape raw metals using power saws, shears, and oxy-fuel gas cutters.
- Assembly and Fitting: Align and securely fit structural components together using bolts, clamps, and tack welding.
- Welding & Finishing: Perform welding operations (like MIG, TIG, or ARC) to join parts permanently and grind down rough edges for a smooth finish.
- Quality Control: Inspect fabricated parts using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify they meet manufacturing tolerances
