We are looking to hire an Quality Manager who will be responsible for checking material quality during production stages and ensuring that every part is manufactured as per drawing, specification, and customer requirements.
The role requires solid shopfloor presence, attention to detail, basic drawing reading ability, and the discipline to stop defects before they move to the next process.
Key Responsibilities1. In-Process InspectionInspect components during different stages of production such as:
- Cutting
- Bending
- Pressing
- Welding
- Grinding / finishing
- Assembly
- Final fitting before dispatch
Ensure that parts are being manufactured as per approved drawing, sample, specification, and work instructions.
2. Dimensional CheckingCheck critical dimensions using tools such as:
- Vernier caliper
- Measuring tape
- Micrometer
- Height gauge
- Radius gauge
- Angle protractor
- Go / No-Go gauges
- Templates and fixtures
Record inspection results wherever required.
- 3. Drawing and Specification VerificationRead and understand basic engineering drawings.
- Check material dimensions, hole sizes, bends, angles, welding locations, and assembly fitment.
- Verify that the production team is following the correct drawing revision.
- Highlight any mismatch between drawing, sample, and actual production.

Defect Identification and ControlIdentify and report defects such as:
- Wrong dimensions
- Wrong hole location
- Bend angle variation
- Welding defects
- Grinding marks
- Scratches / dents
- Poor finishing
- Wrong fitment
- Missing hardware
- Sharp edges / burrs
- Surface damage
- Material mix-up
Ensure defective parts are properly marked, segregated, and reported.
- 5. Process ControlConduct regular stage-wise inspections on the shopfloor.
- Ensure first-piece approval is taken before batch production.
- Check that operators are following the approved process.
- Monitor recurring defects and report them to the Quality Head / Production Head.
- Help reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints.
6. DocumentationMaintain basic quality records such as:
- In-process inspection reports
- First-piece inspection reports
- Rejection / rework records
- Daily inspection checklist
- Non-conformance reports
- Customer-specific inspection formats, if applicable
- 7. Coordination with Production TeamCoordinate with operators, supervisors, contractors, and production staff.
- Explain defects clearly to the concerned person.
- Follow up until corrective action is completed.
- Support production without compromising quality.
