Position Summary

The Interior Designer will work closely with clients, architects, project managers, and site superintendents to develop interior design concepts, material and finish selections, and space planning solutions for residential construction and renovation projects. This role bridges creative vision with construction practicality, ensuring designs are both beautiful and buildable within budget and timeline constraints.

- Key ResponsibilitiesMeet with clients to understand their design preferences, lifestyle needs, and budget parameters
- Develop interior design concepts, mood boards, floor plans, and 3D renderings for residential projects
- Select and specify finishes, fixtures, materials, cabinetry, flooring, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, paint colors, and furnishings
- Coordinate closely with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to ensure design intent aligns with construction feasibility and code requirements
- Prepare detailed specification packages, finish schedules, and procurement documents for the construction team
- Source materials and products from vendors, showrooms,



and suppliers; manage samples and pricing
- Conduct site visits during construction to verify installations match design specifications and resolve field issues
- Track budgets for design selections and communicate cost implications to clients and project managers
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines aligned with construction schedules
- Stay current with design trends, building materials, and sustainable/green design practices
- Maintain organized documentation of client approvals, selections, and change orders
- Present design concepts and selections to clients in a explicit, professional manner

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field (required)
- 3+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably in residential construction, custom home building, or renovation
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Chief Architect, Revit, or similar; Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building materials, and residential building codes
- Excellent communication and client-relationship skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to read architectural and construction drawings
- NCIDQ certification a plus, not required
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites and showrooms
