POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title Business Intelligence Engineer Reports to Head Data Analytics JOB PURPOSE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Business Intelligence BI Engineer to design develop and maintain robust BI solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across the bank This role is critical in transforming raw data into actionable insights supporting strategic initiatives and enhancing operational efficiency through advanced reporting dashboarding and data modeling The BI Engineer will work closely with business stakeholders to understand analytical needs develop scalable data models and deliver intuitive visualizations using tools such as Power BI Tableau and SQL-based platforms TEAM REPORTING STRUCTURE Individual Contributor Manages Team Supervises Staff No KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This role is pivotal in enabling data transparency and performance monitoring across banking functions such as Risk Finance Retail and Corporate Banking Design and develop interactive dashboards reports and KPI scorecards using Power BI and other BI tools Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications Build and maintain semantic data models and OLAP cubes to support self-service analytics Integrate data from multiple sources EDW APIs flat files and ensure data quality and consistency Optimize SQL queries and ETL processes for performance and scalability Support the transformation of periodic and ad-hoc reports into automated BI solutions Ensure compliance with data governance security and privacy policies Provide training and support to business users on BI tools and data interpretation Participate in strategic planning and analytics roadmap development Coordinate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure seamless data pipeline integration Visualize and communicate insights and model outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences using BI tools e g Power BI Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the development of reusable analytics components and best practices QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE Education Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Science or a related field is required Master s degree is preferred Professional Experience Minimum of 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence and data analytics preferably within the banking or financial services sector Technical Proficiency Advanced expertise in data visualization and statistical plotting using tools such as Power BI Python and Matlab Strong command of SQL for querying data modeling and ETL development Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and experience with platforms like SAS and Microsoft SQL Server Familiarity with cloud-based BI platforms e g Azure AWS is a solid advantage Experience in Python and statistical programming with exposure to AI ML tools algorithms and methods Analytical Modeling Skills Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets and deliver production-grade analytics solutions Skilled in data preparation including rationalizing classifying deriving and calculating model input variables Experience applying natural language processing NLP and computer vision techniques to unstructured data is a plus Business Acumen Demonstrated capability to translate business objectives into analytical use cases and recommend optimal statistical approaches Experience in managing BI and analytics projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams Certifications Professional certifications in Microsoft Power BI or equivalent BI platforms are preferred LANGUAGES English Arabic COMPETENCIES Banking Domain Expertise Proven experience in the financial services industry preferably banking with a strong understanding of core banking functions such as Risk Finance Corporate Retail Banking Treasury and the customer lifecycle Analytical Problem-Solving Skills Exceptional ability to analyze complex datasets perform data profiling and derive actionable insights that support strategic decision-making Technical Proficiency Strong command of SQL and relational databases with the ability to design and optimize queries for performance and scalability Communication Presentation Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data findings clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Collaboration Agility Demonstrated success working in agile cross-functional teams with a proactive and adaptable mindset in fast-paced environments Business Acumen Ability to translate business needs into analytical solutions aligning BI initiatives with organizational goals and KPIs Data Governance Awareness Understanding of data privacy security and governance principles in regulated environments Job Type Full-time Work Location Remote
