Key Responsibilities Design Creation Conceptualize and design sheet metal products components and systems including enclosures and structural parts CAD Modeling Use CAD software to create detailed 2D drawings 3D models and engineering specifications for fabrication DFM Analysis Incorporate Design For Manufacturing DFM principles to optimize designs for efficient production minimizing waste and cost Material Process Selection Select appropriate materials e g steel aluminum stainless steel and fabrication processes bending welding cutting for designs Collaboration Work closely with engineers production teams and manufacturing personnel to review designs and address fabrication issues Prototyping Testing Manage prototyping and testing phases to validate designs and identify areas for improvement Documentation Ensure that drawings and specifications are consistent with fabrication and machining processes Technical Support Provide technical information to support quoting purchasing and production activities Required Skills Qualifications Education A Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is often required CAD Software Proficiency Expertise in CAD CAM software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD or CATIA Sheet Metal Knowledge Deep understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes including bending forming cutting welding and fastening Material Expertise Knowledge of various sheet metals and their properties DFM Optimization Ability to apply Design For Manufacturing principles to create cost-effective and efficient designs Problem-Solving Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot design challenges Communication Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Job Type Full time Pay 35 000 00 - 400 000 00 per month Work Location In person
