Company Description Visa is a world leader in payments technology facilitating transactions between consumers merchants financial institutions and government entities across more than 200 countries and territories dedicated to uplifting everyone everywhere by being the best way to pay and be paid At Visa you ll have the opportunity to create impact at scale tackling meaningful challenges growing your skills and seeing your contributions impact lives around the world Join Visa and do work that matters to you to your community and to the world Progress starts with you About the Team The Information Consumption team is the backbone for enabling analytics and decision-making through global federated data management and advanced consumption tools Role Summary The Sr Consultant Data Engineer GDO - Information Consumption team is responsible for contributing to the build out of Visa s Business Intelligence and Visualization tools by providing best-in-class product management and oversight This individual must be able to work across functions business units regions and in deep collaboration with Global Data Office team to migrate transform existing analytics artifacts while implementing best practices and identifying areas of prospect Experience with AI product development cloud data analytics technology and platform and engineering with proven ability to build migrate BI capabilities drive organizational impact and act as change agent are critical to success This role will be responsible for developing Visa s cloud based BI and Visualization product features strategy and roadmap in partnership with key stakeholder teams Key Responsibilities Own architecture decisions for federated query systems cleanrooms and secure data exchange Introduce advanced techniques for data virtualization and performance tuning Partner with business units to translate analytical needs into scalable solutions Partner with business technical staff to diagnose issues and create improvement suggestions Work with partners in Data and AI Governance Risk Technology Cybersecurity Legal Privacy and other key stakeholders to ensure business challenges are properly addressed Coach data engineers on best practices in data engineering and consumption patterns Drive automation monitoring and optimization of data services This is a hybrid position Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager Qualifications Basic Qualifications 10 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree e g Masters MBA JD MD or 2 years of work experience with a PhD Preferred Qualifications Bachelor s or master s in computer science Data Engineering or related field 10 years in data engineering Ability to work effectively within a large matrixed organization Experience in business intelligence visualization tools metadata management regulatory compliance and building and implementing distributed computing and cloud-native architectures Experience working to uplift and mature BI product capabilities policies definition controls and frameworks Hands-on experience with ETL frameworks orchestration tools and query engines Excellent problem-solving skills with track record in synthesizing complex information to produce impactful management information and support informed decision making Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and sustain relationships across levels and role types - influences and collaborates with all levels functions and geographies Superior communication and problem-solving skills with a passion to get things done learn and inspire peers and business partners to uplift skills and capabilities leadership and communication skills Additional Information Visa is an EEO Employer Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex national origin sexual orientation gender identity disability or protected veteran status Visa will also consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with EEOC guidelines and applicable local law
