with emphasis on research and impact at scale We actively promote leadership by initiative We celebrate talent and ambition You will be surrounded by smart people who will challenge you and help you grow You will learn faster than your peers in other organisations Curiosity and irreverence as well as responsibility come together at CEEW You will get above-market remuneration We provide a safe space for all At CEEW your life is your example for others Designation offered Programme Associate Reporting to Programme Lead Location New Delhi Purpose The Clean Air programme at CEEW is committed to reducing particulate concentrations in the Indo-Gangetic Plain by 30 per cent by 2030 Backed by rigorous data analysis integrated research and strategic communications and stakeholder engagement our work is geared towards strengthening data-driven air quality management in the country The three pillars guiding our work are Data and integrated analysis Technical assistance to state and local governments Building agency among communities through strategic outreach For its clean air programme CEEW seeks to hire a Programme Associate having a good understanding of India s air quality section We are looking for a curious researcher for our Delhi office who has the ability to ask the right questions conduct stellar research on the nexus between agriculture and air quality summarise key findings into a lucid brief for policy briefing and support the advancement of the research and policy engagement for air quality Structured thinking coherent writing and effective communication these are the traits we are gunning for Job duties and Accountabilities Research Conceptialising and undertaking policy research toward the elimination of crop residue burning in Northern India Conduct primary surveys including sampling design and questionnaire development and undertake field visits to collect data and information related to crop residue management and air quality in Northern India Analyse primary and secondary AQ-related datasets using statistical tools to assess the status quo policy gaps and propose implementable policy recommendations Conduct life cycle cost assessment of various zero-burn crop residue management technologies Assist or preferably independently write high-quality research reports Generate knowledge content - blogs policy briefs etc at regular intervals Project Assistance Regularly track policy measures taken by the government and their implementation status related to air quality bioenergy and the agricultural sector Assist with project implementation including help with preparing presentations factsheets and other communication material Support efforts to use media platforms for the wide dissemination of CEEW s work and in turn closer engagement with the wider community Participate in weekly team meetings and assist with preparing minutes Participate in relevant conferences workshops and training programmes for a comprehensive understanding of air quality management in India and globally Accompany the other team members for meetings with other stakeholders prepare minutes of the meetings and assist with relevant follow-up Stakeholder engagement Travel to field sites whenever necessary and if feasible to conduct fieldwork including focus group discussions interviews meetings and training Candidate must be willing to travel to Punjab or Madhya Pradesh or other states for a minimum of 4-5 days every month Support coordination and collect relevant data from relevant stakeholders government officials farmers civil societies and others in Punjab Selection Criteria Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree with a specialisation in agricultural engineering environmental engineering public policy Environmental Science and policy Economics Prior experience of working with urban local bodies ULBs agri department officials and proven evidence of conducting effective stakeholder engagement 3-5 years of work experience Key Skills Must be proficient in English and Hindi Proficient in data analytical tools like Python or R Solid proficiency with various quantitative and qualitative research methods Ability to apply technical knowledge to varied socio-cultural ecological and political contexts Solid writing skills with the ability to write coherent and concise emails opinion pieces policy briefs and reports Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to engage with administrative political and business leaders CEEW operates in a dynamic environment and the candidate will be required to show flexibility in undertaking a variety of tasks Compensation Competitive compensation -
