NPD Buyer Buyer Manager Department Material Management Location Chennai Position Overview We are seeking an experienced NPD Buyer Buyer Manager to lead procurement activities for New Product Development NPD projects The role involves supplier development cost optimization and ensuring timely sourcing of components with a strong focus on stainless steel and machining components The ideal candidate will bring expertise in automotive sourcing and cross-functional collaboration to meet project timelines and quality standards Qualifications Education BE in Mechanical Automobile or Industrial Engineering Experience 5-10 years in automotive sourcing and Recent Product Development with emphasis on stainless steel and machining components Key Responsibilities Collaborate with engineering and project teams to understand NPD requirements Identify evaluate and onboard suppliers for new components and technologies Manage RFQs cost negotiations and supplier selection for NPD parts Ensure timely procurement of prototypes samples and initial production batches Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and commercial issues Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reports for NPD projects Support localization and cost-reduction initiatives during early design stages Ensure alignment with APQP PPAP and IATF 16949 standards Skills Competencies Strong knowledge of automotive components supplier base and manufacturing processes Familiarity with APQP PPAP and quality systems Excellent negotiation communication and project management skills Proficiency in ERP systems SAP Oracle and MS Office tools Preferred Attributes Experience with Tier-1 or OEM automotive suppliers Exposure to global sourcing and cost benchmarking Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional environment Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay Up to 1 300 000 00 per year Benefits Food provided Health insurance Provident Fund Expected Start Date 28 11 2025
