Position - Zonal Operation Manager

Location - Chennai

Role Overview The role will be responsible for driving operational excellence, effective team management, and end-to-end Business P&L; ownership for the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

Develop a strong understanding of the bus industry ecosystem, including operator supply, agent networks, and local ground transportation dynamics.

Establish and scale the Smart Bus brand across the assigned territory/zone.

Build and manage a robust network of bus operators and travel agents, while driving brand visibility to generate ticket sales for buses.

Oversee boarding operations and retail sales through travel agents, touts, and walk-in customers, ensuring smooth and compliant boarding procedures.





Stay updated on intercity bus travel market trends and proactively identify opportunities to increase market share for buses operating in the assigned territory.

Candidate Characteristics & Expectations

Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and training of bus captains and other allied staff required for bus operations.

Build and lead a high-performing team with integrity and solid ethical values embedded as core DNA.

Design and implement systems and processes to manage daily operations escalations with speed, accuracy, and accountability.

Drive data-based decision making to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and business outcomes.
