Company Description Rotork is the market-leading global flow control and instrumentation company helping our customers manage the flow or liquids gases and powders across many industries worldwide The Mechanical Engineer role is for 12 months Purpose of the Job The role of a Mechanical Engineer involves providing application solutions drawings and technical support for various Rotork Application teams worldwide This position requires individual contribution to mechanical product design and product enhancements Key Responsibilities and Outcomes Review customer requests for quotation RFQ including technical and commercial specifications Identify cost effective best suited engineered product for the application Read analyze and interpret customer supplied specifications data sheets drawings and schematics Size and select appropriate Rotork actuators and communicate this information to customers using established format Clarify any deviations assumptions or exceptions to customer project specifications and state recommendations Interface with cross-functional teams to review projects and develop a plan of action prior to quotation and after receipt of order The design and preparation of Pneumatic Hydraulic Schematics and control circuits including technical selection of components specific to requests The preparation of General Arrangement GA Drawings to Quality Standards as set out in the Company Procedures To ensure that all orders are engineered in line with the specific quotation and that all costs are covered within the quoted prices Convert stakeholder customer requirements to functional technical design requirements Providing technical design solutions meeting customer requirements Undertake design reviews to ensure that Rotork designs and solutions comply with specifications and relevant standards Develop and provide cost estimates in collaboration with all business disciplines Develop and prepare project plans to influence project timescales Qualifications Qualifications Technical knowledge Bachelor s in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience in industry Ability and experience in operating computer-aided design CAD software Solid Edge is highly advantageous Knowledge in Pneumatics hydraulics applications engineering controls Develops elements based on functional and non-functional requirements Contributes to solutions with an awareness of cost quality and safety Knowledge on structural designs product testing and verification with ability to generate concepts Knowledge in design of machine elements- Springs Gears etc and manufacturing process knowledge casting injection moulding machining fabrication experience a plus Knowledge in Drawing Standards stack up analysis Fits and GD T Compliance to DFMEA design checklists design reviews Able to quickly learn utilize business software and internal programs Knowledge on working with PDM PLM Systems Knowledge on working with Issue Project tracking software Ability to interact with customers on routine basis and must demonstrate a high level of customer service LI Additional Information Our purpose is Keeping the World Flowing for Future Generations For over sixty years the world has relied on us to create the things that keep everything moving From oil and gas to water and shipping pharmaceuticals and food- these are the flows on which our modern world depends Today we re respected and admired for our people performance and products Our success flows from our commitment to engineering excellence and that s what we will always pursue safely and sustainably Rotork is going through an exciting period of change and growth building on our existing market leadership It s a excellent time to join us and make an impact in shaping the future of our business
