Developer Qualifications The resource should have completed B E B Tech in Computer Science Geographical Information Systems GIS or a related field from a recognized university or institution The resource should have completed a Master s degree in Geospatial Technologies Computer Science or a related discipline MBA or relevant advanced qualifications are desirable but not mandatory The resource should have a proven background in Java development GeoServer management and Leaflet integration Required Experience 5-7 years of experience in GIS development including hands-on experience with GeoServer Leaflet Java and GIS Data Management Desirable The resource should have at least 3-5 years of experience working with GeoServer and web mapping technologies such as Leaflet WMS WFS The resource should have experience working with PostGIS or other spatial databases in handling geospatial data Experience in developing GIS-based web applications and backend Java services will be an added advantage Knowledge of cloud-based GIS solutions GeoServer Integration and Management Set up and configure GeoServer to provide WMS WFS and WCS services for geospatial data Manage and optimize GeoServer for efficient delivery of geospatial data in a production environment Implement and maintain integration between GeoServer and external geospatial data sources e g PostGIS Web Mapping Application Development Develop interactive web maps using Leaflet and integrate GeoServer WMS WFS layers to visualize geospatial data Customize Leaflet for specific functionalities such as search draw tools data filters and data overlays Ensure the web maps are responsive and provide a seamless experience on mobile and desktop devices Java Backend Development Design and implement RESTful APIs using Java e g Spring Boot to communicate with GeoServer and provide geospatial data to frontend applications Handle spatial data processing analysis and query optimization using PostGIS or spatial databases Ensure that backend services meet performance scalability and security requirements Geospatial Data Management Manage geospatial datasets in various formats GeoJSON Shapefiles KML GML and ensure their availability for GeoServer and web mapping applications Automate data ingestion processes and ensure the integrity and accuracy of spatial data Stakeholder Client Engagement Client Consultation Engage with clients to understand their IT needs and geospatial challenges Provide tailored GIS solutions based on the assessment Solution Development Design develop and present GIS strategies solutions and proposals to clients Project Implementation Oversee the implementation of GIS projects ensuring adherence to timelines budgets and quality standards Documentation Maintain accurate records of client interactions project details and GIS solutions Create comprehensive documentation for clients reference Collaboration Team Management Collaborate with frontend developers GIS specialists and product managers to define functional requirements and implement features in GIS applications Lead the allocation of resources to ensure smooth operations and quality delivery of
