The School Librarian is responsible for managing the school library promoting a love for reading supporting curriculum development and guiding students and staff in effective use of library and information resources The librarian fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages literacy research and lifelong learning Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain the school library collection including selection acquisition cataloging and weeding of materials Support students and faculty in locating and using information resources effectively Promote reading for pleasure and information through programs book displays reading challenges and author visits Collaborate with teachers to support classroom learning and integrate information literacy into the curriculum Instruct students in research skills digital literacy and ethical use of information Ensure appropriate use of library technologies and stay updated with emerging educational technologies Organize and maintain a welcoming safe and orderly library space Maintain records of inventory circulation and budget expenditures Supervise library aides volunteers or student assistants as applicable Uphold school policies and model ethical and professional conduct Qualifications Required Bachelor s degree in Library Science Education or a related field Strong knowledge of children s and young adult literature Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Master s in Library and Information Science MLIS or equivalent Experience in a school or educational setting Familiarity with library management software and digital learning platforms Job Type Full time Pay From 20 000 00 per month Benefits Cell phone reimbursement Paid sick time Schedule Day shift Work Location In person
