- The Junior Veterinary Officer will support field-level dairy development initiatives with a focus on improving animal health, dairy productivity, and sustainable livestock management practices.
- The role requires close coordination with dairy farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), entrepreneurs, and field teams to strengthen the rural dairy ecosystem through scientific and community-based interventions.
- The candidate will be responsible for conducting field surveys, animal mapping, veterinary camps, and providing technical advisory support related to herd health management, disease diagnosis, vaccination, and reproductive health practices, including Artificial Insemination (AI).
- The officer will also support fodder development initiatives, silage preparation, balanced ration formulation, and fodder bank establishment to improve animal nutrition and farm economics.
- In addition,
the role involves developing training materials, handbooks, and extension content for farmers and entrepreneurs while organizing training programs, exposure visits, and awareness activities.
- The candidate should maintain proper documentation, field records, and monitoring reports related to animal health and project activities.
- The position demands solid communication (Tamil & English), stakeholder coordination, and field engagement skills, with willingness to travel up to 50% based on project requirements.
- The Junior Veterinary Officer will contribute toward sustainable dairy farming practices, productivity enhancement, livelihood improvement, and capacity-building initiatives in rural communities.
