- Spread the cheer over social media
How? There are loads of ways, but here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Hold an advent giveaway on your channel
- Run a festive competition or brand partnership
- Hold an Instagram Live showcasing your Christmas collection
- Change your profile pictures to give a Christmassy feel
- Create some templates to give your feed a festive theme
- Schedule your content for the Christmas period
So obviously the main reason for this is so that you are able to sit back, relax and enjoy that glass of mulled wine; but it is also a great way to make sure that you are organised and have got all the right messages going out to your customers. If you leave it until the last minute, you are bound to be rushing (Christmas is always a manic time) and will be likely to miss the core objective of your content or even worse, forget posting anything at all.
- Optimise your Facebook Shop
Social Commerce is an ever growing phenomenon. During the festive season, customers are in buying mode; they are ready to spend their money. You need to make their journey to do this as easy as possible. For more information on Social Commerce, please read our blog.
- Update your Christmas product shots
It goes with the traditional saying, ‘a picture says a thousand words’. Updating your product shots with a Christmas feel/packaging will automatically make customers associate your product with the festive period; whether that’s something that they are going to consume on the big day, or buy for a loved one… There is so much ‘clutter’ at Christmas, you need to make the purchasing funnel as easy as possible if you want to maximise your sales!
- Optimise your email flows to retain new customers
During The Festive Period, You Are Likely To Get a Lot More People Visiting Your Website And Purchasing Products. You Need To Seize This Opportunity! Flows We Would Highly Recommend Ensuring Are Set Up Before The Festive Period Are:
- A strong welcome flow
- Abandoned Cart
- Browser Abandonment
Need a hand setting these up before it gets busy? Drop us an email.
- Bundle products together into gifts
Everyone loves a Christmas gift bundle! It is also a great way to encourage upselling and enables you to create different levels of price points that will attract an array of different consumers - from Secret Santa gifts to the main pressie.
- Build gift guides to promote your seasonal products
This goes back to making the buying journey for your customer as easy as possible. A gift guide shows your top picks, clears all the clutter and makes the decision making process so much easier. It also enables you to promote products that YOU want to sell; something with seasonal packaging that is worthless in the summer. A product that may have a shorter sell by date. The list goes on…
- Decide on your last order date/opening hours
This is so important. Firstly, you want to encourage urgency. You want your customers to feel like they need to get their orders in quick before it’s too late. Also, you want to avoid any customer disappointment.
If a customer tries to order or visit you and you can no longer deliver or are closed, this creates a negative situation between your brand and them. They are likely to go somewhere else, and you could very well lose that customer forever.
- Create banners and images to promote Christmas sales
When people come to your website, receive your emails or visit your socials, you want to show them that you are geared up for Christmas. You want to be their solution for gifting and/or general festive consumption. You can do this easily through simple imagery and call to actions.
- Reward your loyal customers
It’s Time To Share The Love! Christmas Is a Great Time To Reward Your Loyal Customers. Here Are a Few Way In Which You Can Do This:
- Gift your highest spending online customers a voucher or gift
- Run a prize draw throughout the month of December; everyone that spends £X amount in store and/or online gets entered
