Role Description The Technical Textile Coated Fabric Expert will lead the development, testing, and optimization of coated fabric materials used in AquaWrap’s vehicle protection systems. This remote role involves translating performance requirements (e.g., waterproofing, durability, flexibility, UV resistance) into material specifications, working closely with manufacturing partners to refine coating processes, and ensuring quality standards are consistently met. The expert will conduct lab and field evaluations, analyze performance data, and propose improvements to fabric design, coatings, and construction techniques.

Day-to-day tasks include creating technical documentation, collaborating with product design and operations teams, supporting problem-solving for production issues,



and staying current with industry trends and regulatory requirements related to technical textiles and protective equipment.

Qualifications Solid expertise in technical textiles, including woven/knitted substrates, coated fabrics, and functional laminates for waterproofing and barrier applications.

Experience with polymer coatings and finishes (e.g., PU, PVC, TPU, silicone), adhesion mechanisms, and surface treatment technologies.

Proficiency in material testing and evaluation, including hydrostatic pressure, tear and tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and weathering/UV performance.

Ability to translate performance requirements into fabric specifications and process parameters, and collaborate effectively with manufacturing and supply chain teams.

Knowledge of product development workflows, quality assurance systems, and relevant industry standards for protective covers or technical textile products.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Textile Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical industry experience.

Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment.

Background in automotive, outdoor gear, protective equipment, or flood resilience products is an advantage; familiarity with sustainability and durability considerations is beneficial.
