Subject Matter Expert - Physics, Avanti Fellows The Role:

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) Physics serves as Avanti Fellows' primary subject authority for JEE/NEET/CUET preparation, responsible for developing, validating, and curating high-quality Physics assessment content. As the custodian of academic accuracy, the SME creates chapter-level, part-level, and full-syllabus test papers, ensuring every question is conceptually rigorous and aligned with the latest exam patterns. This role bridges the gap between English and Tamil-medium instruction by translating content into Tamil, ensuring bilingual accessibility without compromising scientific precision.

By delivering meticulously reviewed, error-free materials, the SME directly strengthens students' exam readiness and academic confidence.

What You'll Actually Do:

This role is highly focused on content excellence, quality assurance, and bilingual accessibility. You will:

Design and Develop Test Papers

- Create high-quality Physics assessments at chapter, part, and full-syllabus levels for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET, and CUET (Science).
- Develop detailed solutions, answer keys, and explanatory notes aligned with the latest exam patterns and syllabi.
- Design Daily Practice Problems (DPPs), worksheets, and concept-based practice sheets to enhance students' problem-solving abilities.

Ensure Zero-Error Quality Assurance

- Conduct rigorous multiple-round reviews of all question papers, solutions, and answer keys to ensure conceptual, typographical, and calculation accuracy.
- Enforce the organization's zero-tolerance policy on errors, implementing thorough proofreading and peer-review workflows.
- Verify that all content meets the appropriate difficulty levels and pedagogical standards for competitive examination aspirants.





Create Bilingual Content (English to Tamil)

- Accurately translate English Physics content into Tamil while preserving conceptual depth, scientific terminology, and academic rigour.
- Produce seamless bilingual question papers (English and Tamil) to support Tamil-medium students in government schools.
- Collaborate with translation teams to standardise Physics terminology in Tamil and ensure consistency across all bilingual materials.

Align with Curriculum and Exam Trends

- Stay updated with evolving syllabi, question patterns, and marking schemes for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, NEET, and CUET.
- Map assessments to specific topics, sub-topics, and difficulty levels to ensure comprehensive syllabus coverage.
- Analyse previous years' question papers to identify trends and incorporate them into test design.

Analyse Performance and Refine Content

- Analyse student performance data on tests to identify gaps in question design or areas of student difficulty.
- Use performance insights to iteratively improve question framing, clarity, and effectiveness.
- Track error rates and implement process improvements to maintain zero-error standards.

Collaborate Across Functions

- Work closely with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and academic coordinators to ensure content consistency.




- Coordinate with the technology team to upload and manage content on Avanti's learning management system.
- Provide content-related support to teachers and program teams as required.

Who We're Looking For: You'll likely do well in this role if you have:

Experience

- 46 years of experience in content creation, test paper development, or teaching Physics at the JEE/NEET level.
- Proven track record of producing error-free academic content for competitive examinations.
- Demonstrated expertise in Physics for Classes XIXII, with strong command over JEE/NEET-level problem-solving.

Skills

- Robust subject expertise in Physics and the ability to design questions across varying difficulty levels.
- Excellent translation skills from English to Tamil with command over scientific terminology and technical accuracy.
- High attention to detail, organisation, and commitment to quality assurance.
- Proficiency in using computer software, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and document preparation tools.
- Familiarity with LaTeX or equation editors is a plus.

Qualifications

- Full-time degree in M.Sc. Physics / B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech (Physics or related discipline).
- Proficiency in Tamil (reading, writing, and translation) is mandatory.
- Proficiency in English for content creation and collaboration.

What Probably Won't Work: This role may not be a good fit if you:

- Do not have strong proficiency in written Tamil for translation and bilingual content creation.
- Are not detail-oriented and struggle with strict quality control processes or multiple review cycles.
- Prefer teaching students directly over creating, reviewing, and refining written assessment content.
- Are uncomfortable working with tight deadlines and maintaining high accuracy under pressure
