Job Overview As the Student Liaison Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the emotional and physical wellbeing of our students and staff, and providing logistical support to the Centre Manager in areas such as catering and rooming.

You will oversee a team of Student Liaison Officers whose role is to be on hand to respond to any issues that might arise relating to accommodation, behaviour, and general well being are dealt with in a compassionate yet professional and efficient manner.

It was stressful at times – monitoring dietary requirements is a huge responsibility and you never know when an A&E; visit might happen! Full Board

Accommodation and meals provided throughout your contract. No deduction will be made for this.

Salary

£690.00* per week

Holiday Pay

12.07% holiday pay will be added to your salary.

Working Hours

Up to 48 hours per week based on 6 working days.

Reporting to

Centre Director

Locations

Uppingham, Edinburgh, Rugby, Bedales, Royal Russell, Colchester & Cheltenham.

Available Contract Dates

Temporary – April, July & August 2026

Pre-joining training dates

Management staff are required to attend a paid training weekend in advance of starting their contract.

An online safeguarding course will need to be completed prior to your arrival at the centre.

Key Responsibilities: Student Welfare

You will be directly responsible for several crucial key areas in the running of the centre

You’ll Be Expected To:

- Ensure any students with dietary requirements are getting the appropriate meals
- Record any accommodation issues and liaise with our host school to ensure these are actioned
- Have an oversight of the rooming list and an awareness of where every student is staying
- Ensure all staff are familiar with and have signed relevant risk assessments
- Oversee fire drills in conjunction with our host school

Team Management You will have a team of Student Liaison Officers who are often “on call”. It is your job to identify when an extra set of hands may be needed and deploy them as necessary.

For Example:

- A first aider may be required during a sport session
- A Group Leader needs assistance taking a student to a pharmacy or A&E;
- The Academic Manager needs help in locating students absent from class
- A group that has just arrived needs someone to deliver a campus tour

Key Performance Indicators
- Welfare issues tackled in a timely and effective manner
- Positive feedback from your Centre Director
- Positive feedback from Group Leaders
- Positive feedback from the host school/university

Group Leaders Group Leaders are our clients and will be quick to let management know if they are dissatisfied with anything! You will always need to be friendly and diplomatic in your interactions with them.

As SLM, you will often be the person who hears any concerns first – it’s imperative feedback is passed over to the relevant team and actioned as quickly as possible.





Boarding House Supervision

Along with your Student Liaison Officers, ensure quiet times and curfews are adhered to.

Staff Welfare

Summer schools are intense environments and Dusemond’s own staff may need support or mediation at times. Having an awareness of how everyone is getting on and giving staff chance to air any concerns is crucial in maintaining a positive work environment.

Safeguarding

We are all responsible for students’ safeguarding, but along with the Centre Manager you will be responsible for escalating any concerns as necessary.

Your eligibility

You Must:

- be over 18 years of age
- be eligible to work in the UK
- get an enhanced DBS check**

You Should :

- have existing people management experience
- mediation and relationship management experience
- be an energetic team player
- have an understanding of basic safeguarding procedures

It's a Plus If:

- you are a first aider
- have experience working with teenagers
- you’ve done this before!
- Dusemond will assist applicants in obtaining an enhanced DBS check and cover the cost.
