Telawne Power Equipment Pvt. Ltd. is a trusted name in the transformer industry, engaged in the manufacturing and supply of transformers. As we continue to expand our operations, we are looking for an experienced and strategic procurement professional to lead our Strategic Purchase function.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Head – Strategic Purchase with extensive experience in the transformer industry to lead strategic sourcing, vendor development, procurement planning, cost optimization, and supplier management.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of transformer manufacturing materials, supplier networks, market trends, commercial negotiations, and procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and drive the Strategic Purchase and Procurement function for transformer manufacturing.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business and manufacturing requirements.
- Handle strategic sourcing and procurement of transformer-specific raw materials, components, and critical bought-out items.
- Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage reliable suppliers and strategic vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, contracts, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Drive cost reduction, cost optimization,



and value engineering initiatives.
- Develop alternate sources for critical materials to minimize supply-chain risks.
- Monitor market trends, commodity prices, availability, and price fluctuations to support procurement decisions.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key strategic suppliers.
- Ensure timely availability of materials as per production and project requirements.
- Work closely with Design, Production, Planning, Quality, Stores, Finance, and Projects teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Review supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and service parameters.
- Develop long-term strategic agreements and rate contracts with key suppliers.
- Ensure procurement activities are aligned with approved budgets and organizational policies.
- Lead supplier negotiations for high-value and critical procurement categories.
- Identify procurement risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Drive supplier development, capacity enhancement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and monitor procurement KPIs, including cost savings, purchase price variance, supplier delivery performance, quality, and inventory impact.
- Ensure proper procurement controls, documentation,



and compliance with company procedures.
- Lead and mentor the purchase/procurement team and build a high-performance procurement function.
- Provide strategic procurement inputs to senior management and support business growth initiatives.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- 18–30 years of overall experience in Purchase / Procurement / Strategic Sourcing.
- Mandatory experience in the Transformer Industry.
- Robust understanding of transformer manufacturing materials, components, and vendor ecosystem.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, vendor development, commercial negotiations, and cost reduction.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, decision-making, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong understanding of procurement planning, supplier evaluation, contracts, and commercial terms.
- Candidates who have handled high-value strategic procurement in transformer manufacturing will be preferred.
