Providing surgical patients with perioperative care in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms.

Stocking operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.

Developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients.

Preparing patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on.

Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.

Applying sterile techniques in handling medical instruments and equipment pre-, during, and post-surgery.

Collaborating with surgical teams and other medical professionals on patient medication and post-surgery care.

Updating patient files and medical records.

Assisting with the ordering, maintenance, and safe storage of surgical equipment and supplies.

Providing patients with post-surgery care instructions and answering questions.

Ensure preparation of the material and equipment in the OT, receive patients and take them from the preparation room to the OT, making sure they are ready for surgery





Assist the surgeon and anaesthetist during the operation, anticipating their needs in order to facilitate their job; with the nurse anaesthetist, monitor the vital parameters of the patient

Organise patient transportation from the OT to the recovery room and carry-out and/or supervise all the postoperative activities to prepare the OT for the next scheduled operation or emergency

Implement the hygiene, sterilisation, asepsis and disinfection protocols and procedures at all times, before, during and after operations, to ensure the safety conditions of patients and staff

Supervise and train the nurse aides and cleaners while in the OT, following MSF protocols

Control all equipment and material stock used in the OT to ensure productive and rational use of material resources

Contribute to monthly reports according to guidelines (statistical reports, etc.)
