Designation: Staff Nurse Reporting to: Direct – Ward In charges (All activities) Indirect - Nursing Supervisor Key result areas:  To get trained in BLS/ ACLS  Organizing workloads  Training planner completion Qualification:  A Degree/Diploma in Nursing with 0 – 1 experience.  RN & RM valid registration in Tamil Nadu Nursing Council in nursing as well as midwifery Knowledge:  Tamil and English Language knowledge is mandatory  Anatomy and physiology of all system in human body.  All ward procedures of basic nursing  BLS/ACLS  Basic computer knowledge and Operation of Hospital information system  Current infection control practices  Basic knowledge in common diagnostic tests and procedures in our hospital.  Hospital policies and protocols.

Skills:  Phlebotomy  Patient assessment.  Skill to make decision and organize accordingly.  Communication with patients and internal team.  Knowledge on common drugs  Critical thinking  Writing nursing care plan Exclusive Job responsibilities: 1) Assess the needs of the patients and prepare plan of nursing care.

- Demonstrate and carry out effective nursing care, administration of drugs and treatment, observation and recording of vital parameters.

- Attending rounds with medical personnel and assist in examination of patients and treatment.
- Follow hospital policies and maintain the core values.
- Demonstrate and carryout preoperative and post operative care of patients.
- Read departmental E-mails daily and reply as per the need.
- Ensure that hospital attender is available with the patient and educate them about the infection control measures to be practiced.
- Proper bedside handing over to be ensured in each shift and follow the same.




- Maintaining registers like ETO book, Laundry book, MRD/OPD book, Store Indent book, IV cannulation, Billing book, pharmacy refund book, discharge summary book etc. 10)Ensure that the billing sheets are updated, after each service & avoid errors.
- Maintenance of patient records 12)Knowledge about safety net monitoring - MASIMO. 13)Keeping the log book updated 14)Perform only privileged procedures and call for help in any need from the seniors/ward in-charge. 15)Properly packing and sending trays for autoclaving/ETO respectively. 16)If any death occurs in ward, fulfill the formalities and report it to ICU staff to maintain death register 17)Report incidents in ward to the ward in charge and ICN. 18)Reporting of needle stick injuries. 19)HMIS, QIKWELL, ESS Knowledge. 20)Sending the discharge patient Appointment list and doing follow up calls. 21)Maintain cleanliness of ward, its annexes and environments. 22)Daily check of emergency drugs and life saving equipments. 23)MSDS knowledge 24)Maintain inventory. 25)Knowledge about the how to collect RT PCR and Antigen Test. 26)Handling of Isolatioon patient. 27)Knowledge about donning and doffing of PPE.
- MEWS Scoring.
- Emergency codes.
- Hospital discharge of patients.
- Followup calls. 32)Indenting medication .

- Shifting of patient to OT / Dialysis / Outside of hospital for diagnostic tests.

Supervision:  Ensure the cleanliness of ward, and functioning of all in ward and toilet  Check the working condition of equipment.  Supervision of patient care by trainee staff nurse in the ward.

Participation:  Attend unit meeting conducted by ward In-charges.  Attend CNE/ workshops/ training programs.  Attend cannulation practice.  Attend all required meeting of the hospital.
