Cloud Support

Engineer with over 4 years of expertise in VMware virtualization, VDI administration, and enterprise infrastructure support. Skilled in managing and troubleshooting Omnissa Horizon (formerly VMware Horizon) environments, including Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), Instant Clones, App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM). Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, HA, DRS, and virtualization technologies supporting small/large-scale virtual desktop deployments.

Education:Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

Experience:Minimum of 4+ years of experience, preferrably in Omnissa VDI (L2)

Certifications: VCP-DTM/ITIL v4 (Perferred)

Knowledge:

- Understanding of Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and basic Linux administration.
- Experience with vulnerability remediation, security compliance, and patch management.
- Working knowledge of Azure/AWS Hydrid VDI environments is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Instant Clones, Desktop Pools, RDS Farms, and Image Management.
- Experience managing Horizon Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM).

Roles and Responsibilities

- Manage, administer, and support Omnissa Horizon Hybrid VDI environment.
- Monitor and maintain Horizon Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), App Volumes, and Dynamic Workplace Manager (DEM).
- Provision and manage virtual desktop pools, farms, and Instant Clone environments.
- Troubleshoot VDI-related issues involving desktop performance, user logins, application delivery, and connectivity.
- Perform platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management activities.
- Support VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, and vSAN.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and capacity management of the VDI platform.
- Collaborate with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and security teams for seamless integration and authentication.
- Monitor system health and proactively address issues to minimize service disruptions.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within SLA targets.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
- Perform vulnerability remediation and security compliance activities.
- Coordinate with vendors and support teams for complex issue resolution.
