Job Summary The Specialist, Regulatory Policy Operations takes a lead role in new client onboardings and client service for large, complex and/or high touch clients in MIS’ policy rating system. This role is also responsible for the maintenance of MIS’ policy rating system, and helps train and develop junior team members in RPO.
Principal Responsibilities
Maintenance of Policy Rating System
- Research and understand changes being made in insurance regulatory policy operations for software application base product features, bureau changes and customer development projects.
- Work with internal technical staff to identify design considerations for software application features/changes.
- Create written assessments/specifications; define programming changes needed to implement a given software application feature or change for a client in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
- Create and execute test plans for policy rating system.
- Performs tasks related to release management; completes and documents tasks associated with the product’s software development life cycle.
New Client Implementations
- Independently leads implementation of new clients, with a focus on implementations of mid-to high-level complexity.
- Gather and document user requirements and use cases to clearly outline the acceptance criteria.
- Create detailed project plans, communicate all plans, tasks and deadlines to stakeholders and ensure milestones are being met on time.
Client Support
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients.
Assigned client accounts will be larger with mid-to high- level complexity.
- Leads regular status calls with assigned clients and manages the relationship, tactfully challenging clients where needed. Ensure high level of client satisfaction.
- Provide troubleshooting and customer support, working with internal teams as needed. Escalate high complexity issues to supervisor.
Teamwork and Collaboration
- Develops expertise in internal team tools (e.g. Smartsheet) and serves as a subject matter expert to internal team members.
- Identify and propose possible improvements to RPO processes and procedures.
- Acts as a mentor to junior team members, assisting in training and developing, and assisting them in resolving issues, as needed.
- Under the direction of supervisor, collaborates across the Insurance Policy Operations and MIS teams to assist with tasks and special projects, as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree
- Bachelors / Masters
- Working Experience - 2-3 years’ work experience in insurance industry required, commercial P&C; preferred | Project Management experience required
