We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead the development, scaling, and operation of a customer-facing Managed Database Platform. This leadership role is responsible for driving engineering strategy, operational excellence, and technical innovation while building highly reliable, scalable, and secure cloud database services used by enterprise customers.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and relational databases, along with a proven ability to build high-performing engineering organizations. You will work closely with Product, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, and Customer Success teams to deliver world-class managed database solutions that prioritize reliability, performance, and customer experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership
Lead the engineering organization responsible for designing, developing,



and operating managed database services.
Define and execute the long-term engineering roadmap aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence.
Drive architectural decisions that balance scalability, reliability, operational efficiency, and engineering velocity.
Partner with Product, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, Support, and GTM teams to deliver high-quality customer-facing services.
Cloud Platform & Database Engineering
Design and operate highly available cloud-native database platforms capable of supporting large-scale production workloads.
Lead engineering initiatives around replication, high availability, backup & restore, disaster recovery, scaling, upgrades, storage optimization, and database lifecycle management.
