About the Role

We are hiring a Manual QA Tester with 2 to 5 years of hands-on software testing experience to own the quality of our web, mobile and AI-driven products. You will work closely with developers, product managers and designers in an Agile setup writing test cases, running functional and regression cycles, and making sure nothing broken reaches production.

Candidates with exposure to testing AI/ML or LLM-based applications (chatbots, AI assistants, GenAI features) will be given strong preference.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse requirements, user stories and wireframes; raise clarifications early and identify test scenarios.
- Design, document and maintain detailed test cases, test scenarios and test data for functional, regression, integration and UAT cycles.
- Execute manual test cases across web, mobile (Android/iOS) and API layers; log explicit, reproducible defects with evidence.
- Perform smoke, sanity, regression, exploratory, cross-browser and cross-device testing for every release.
- Track defects end-to-end in JIRA (or equivalent) through the complete defect life cycle; retest and close verified fixes.
- Test AI-powered features — chatbot flows, prompt/response accuracy, hallucination and edge-case handling, fallback behaviour and output consistency.
- Validate backend data using basic SQL queries and verify API responses using Postman.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, grooming and retrospectives.
- Prepare and share test summary reports, defect metrics and release sign-off documentation.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce, isolate and root-cause issues; support production issue triage when needed.




- Contribute to improving QA processes, checklists and regression suites.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in manual software testing.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proven ability to write clear test cases, test scenarios and bug reports independently.
- Practical experience with functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, UAT and exploratory testing.
- Hands-on with defect tracking / test management tools — JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr or similar.
- Working knowledge of API testing using Postman and basic SQL for backend validation.
- Experience testing web and mobile applications across browsers and devices.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and a genuine bug-hunting mindset.
- Good written and verbal communication; able to work with distributed teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.

Preferred (Added Advantage)
- Exposure to testing AI / GenAI / LLM-based applications — chatbots, AI assistants, recommendation engines, prompt-driven features.
- Understanding of how to evaluate non-deterministic outputs: accuracy, relevance, bias, hallucination and safety checks.
- Basic automation testing exposure — Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or REST Assured.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and Git.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
- Experience in a product-based or fast-paced startup environment.
