Job Title: Senior Video Editor

Location: Malad, Mumbai (Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM). This is a strictly in-office role; remote or hybrid work is not available.

Brand Name: Nabhya Ayurveda

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: CMO

Experience: Min 2 to Max 4 years

About the Role

We are a fast-growing, founder-led direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand. You will be working for Nabhya Ayurveda, one of our own brands. We're looking for a Senior Video Editor to lead our short-form content engine — someone who can take a brief and run with it end-to-end, manage a team of editors, own quality control across everything that ships, and drive video production from script to scroll-stopping final cut, including hands-on editing themselves, not just overseeing others.

This is a hands-on, editing-first role. Before anything else, you need to be a strong editor yourself — the kind of editor others learn from, not just someone who reviews their work. On top of that, you'll bring editorial judgment, manage people and workflow, spot what will and won't perform, and raise the quality and consistency of everything that goes out.

This is a full-time, in-office role , Monday to Saturday, 10 AM – 7 PM, where you'll work closely with the team and the Organic Marketing Head and Creative Strategist.

Key Responsibilities

- Edit, first and foremost. Be a strong, hands-on editor yourself — this is not a purely supervisory role. Your own editing sets the standard the rest of the team works to.
- Own end-to-end video production , from brief to final delivery, working closely with the Organic Marketing Head and Creative Strategist.
- Manage and mentor a team of junior editors — this includes giving clear briefs, reviewing drafts, communicating revisions precisely, and giving final approval on cuts before they ship.
- Own quality control (QC) on every video before it goes out ,

with a clear understanding that approved videos go straight into a paid Meta ad account and get tested with real ad spend. This means evaluating for performance, not just polish — hook strength, pacing, how well the clips match the script, caption style, and music energy, alongside overall craft and brand consistency.
- Give fast, specific, actionable feedback. You'll be the primary point of communication with junior editors — feedback needs to be clear enough that editors know exactly what to fix and why, with no back-and-forth needed to decode it.
- Lead the video production workflow across all content types, taking each piece from raw material to a fully polished, on-brand final edit.
- Edit short-form content with strong command of pacing, storytelling, transitions, captions, sound design, and motion graphics.
- Set and maintain the brand's editing and visual standards — be the quality bar the rest of the team is measured against.
- Bring an R&D; mindset. Proactively research and pitch new editing styles, formats, hooks, and references — don't just execute briefs, help shape what gets briefed.
- Turn around high volumes of edits quickly without compromising quality, to keep pace with the content calendar.
- Take feedback well, iterate quick , and know when to push back with a better creative call.
- Organise and manage footage, assets, and project files systematically across the team.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications

- Strong, demonstrable proficiency as an editor yourself in CapCut (desktop), Adobe Premiere Pro,

and Adobe After Effects.
- A strong portfolio with meaningful video work for D2C / e-commerce brands (required).
- Prior experience managing or leading a team of junior editors — including giving briefs, reviewing drafts, communicating changes, and owning final QC/approval.
- A working understanding of performance creative — what actually drives hook strength, pacing, clip-script congruence, caption style, and music energy, since approved videos run as paid ads on Meta with real budget behind them. This is about what converts, not just what looks good.
- Strong, fast, specific communication skills — you'll be giving junior editors feedback they can act on immediately, without needing it clarified or repeated.
- Hands-on experience producing AI-generated videos from scripts using AI video tools, as well as editing conventionally shot footage.
- Sharp instinct for pacing, storytelling, trends, and what performs on short-form.
- Ability to independently handle captions, motion graphics, and sound design without hand-holding.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments, people, and tight turnarounds reliably.
- A proactive, R&D-driven; approach — always bringing in new ideas, edit styles, formats, and references, not waiting to be told what to try.
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable owning outcomes, not just tasks.
- Willing and able to work from our Goregaon office, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM – 7 PM — this role is not remote or hybrid.

Good to Have (Plus Points)

- Experience setting up QC processes or editing SOPs for a content team.
- Deep, current feel for what performs on Instagram Reels and short-form generally.
- Advanced experience with AI video tools (text-to-video, AI avatars, or other generative tools).
- Basic design skills (Photoshop / Canva) for thumbnails and graphics
