HumCommerce is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager / Delivery Manager to lead multiple software and eCommerce projects for global customers.

This is a hands-on role, not a PMO or reporting position. You will stay close to customers, Project Managers, Engineering Leads, and delivery teams; identify risks early; resolve issues; manage difficult customer situations; and ensure commitments are met.

You will work across a delivery organization of around 40 people today, growing toward 50, including Project Managers, Engineering Leads, developers, QA engineers, and designers.

You will own a portfolio of concurrent projects and work closely with the founders.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the successful delivery of multiple concurrent customer projects.
- Maintain clear visibility into scope, timelines, effort, budget, risks, dependencies, quality, and customer health.
- Work with Project Managers and Engineering Leads to ensure projects are properly estimated, planned, staffed, and delivered.
- Identify risks and bottlenecks early and take corrective action before they escalate.
- Take ownership of troubled projects and difficult customer situations.
- Build strong customer relationships through proactive and transparent communication.
- Mentor Project Managers and help them become stronger, more independent delivery leaders.
- Balance customer commitments with engineering quality and technical constraints.
- Manage project commercials, including effort burn, budget variance, utilization, change requests, and margins.
- Improve estimation, planning, resource allocation, risk management, and delivery processes.
- Support presales, estimation, SOWs, and customer discussions when required.




- Use delivery metrics and AI-assisted tools to improve predictability, communication, productivity, and decision-making.

What We're Looking For

- 1018 years of overall experience, with strong software project and delivery management experience.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent customer projects across different teams, rather than only one large enterprise program.
- Experience delivering web, eCommerce, SaaS, enterprise applications, integrations, or custom software.
- Strong understanding of the SDLC, including estimation, planning, development, QA, release, and support.
- Ability to convert scope and effort into realistic delivery plans and customer commitments.
- Excellent spoken and written English, with confidence handling international customers and difficult conversations.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery, with a practical rather than process-heavy approach.
- Experience working directly with developers, QA engineers, Engineering Leads, and Project Managers.
- Demonstrated ability to recover troubled projects and rebuild customer confidence.
- Experience mentoring Project Managers or Engineering Leads.
- Strong ownership mindset and comfort working in a rapid-moving, relatively flat organization.

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is useful, but not mandatory:

- Adobe Commerce / Magento
- Shopify / Shopify Plus
- B2B or Headless Commerce
- ERP, CRM, PIM, CPQ, payment, and third-party integrations
- APIs and custom web applications
- Jira, Azure DevOps, ClickUp
- CI/CD and cloud platforms
- AI-assisted delivery and software development

Certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2 are useful, but practical delivery experience matters more.
