- Providing guidance to technical design teams regarding evaluation, testing practices and methods and coding.
- Implementation of sound and advanced engineering practices.
- Organise and chair design reviews.
- Firmware Requirement Specifications and Interface Control Specifications.
- Specialist knowledge regarding selection and application of hardware devices applicable to Firmware.
- Mentoring and training of junior technical personnel.
- Provides inputs to management regarding future software requirements and needs.
- Assist in the generation of a technology horizon plan that includes resources and software development tools.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the FPGA/Microcontroller Firmware Development.
- Knowledge of software/firmware system/subsystem design with application in the precision guided munition domain.
- DO254 Firmware Development Standards.
- Electronic/Software Eng. degree. (Batchelor, Honours, Masters is an advantage.)

- Should be able to assist in longer term planning for the expansion of technical ability.
- Thorough understanding of the systems engineering process (Requirements, analysis, design, integration, verification, certification and configuration management.)
