How You'll Help Us Keep Climbing (Overview &
- Key Responsibilities)
- The tasks associated with this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Materials Interchangeability &
- Configuration Management:
- Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of material configurations and interchangeability.
- Resolve required configuration change clarifications and ensure proper implementation across manuals and tracking systems.
- Answer Technical Inquiries
- Respond to engineering questions related to materials, configurations, and ATA-specific issues.
- Data Analysis &
- Reporting
- Gather required data for engineering reviews not limited to operational logs (pilot, non-routine, etc.), Non-Routine writeups in a Heavy Check environment,
- Analyze aircraft logs and maintenance data to answer specific questions (e.g., IDG changes over the past 2 years, brake vs. wheel replacements over a defined period).
- Develop and maintain dashboards or reports to support engineering decisions within Tableau, Skywise, PowerBI, etc.
- Documentation Authoring &
- Approval
- Author, review, and approve engineering documents such as ERAs (Engineering Review Approvals), AAs (Aircraft Approvals), and other technical documentation.
- Maintain high standards of documentation accuracy and compliance.
- Local Engineering Partnership
- Collaborate closely with Atlanta based engineering teams to ensure ownership and accountability for project mockups either within the US or at MRO maintenance locations.
- Support local engineers while maintaining centralized oversight of deep-dive analyses.
- This position reports to the Fleet Engineering Manager within the Bangalore Office.
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Candidates at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (aerospace or mechanical preferred). Understanding of aircraft systems or airline operations is strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in the field of Fleet Engineering - Aircraft Operations from Aircraft OEM or Airline industry
- Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, FAR 121 dispatch regulations, FAA regulatory documents, and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Must work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.
- Must have strong knowledge on fleet engineering – Aircraft/Flight operations, aircraft manuals and processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Good understanding on material configurations and interchangeability; configuration change documentation and tracking
- Good understanding of ATA chapters and aircraft operational logs (Pilot, non-routine, etc)
- Good at technical documentation, Engineering Review Approvals, Aircraft Approvals
- Familiarity with aircraft operation, maintenance and aircraft under AOG, AOS, SOS situations.
- Data mining skills and ability to develop & maintain dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau, Skywise, etc
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
