Role & responsibilities
WE are looking for a Payroll professional with strong experience in end-to-end Indian payroll processing and client servicing. The candidate will be responsible for managing payroll activities for clients, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, statutory compliance, resolving payroll-related queries, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for Indian clients, from payroll inputs to final payroll closure.
- Handle monthly payroll activities including attendance, leave, variable pay, incentives, deductions, reimbursements, and full & final settlements.
- Ensure accurate calculation of salary, TDS, PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Bonus and other applicable statutory components.
- Manage payroll-related statutory compliance and ensure timely submission of required returns and payments.
- Review payroll inputs and outputs to identify discrepancies and ensure payroll accuracy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client payroll queries and provide timely resolutions.
- Understand client requirements and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth payroll delivery.
- Prepare and share payroll reports, MIS and other client-specific reports.
- Handle employee/payroll queries related to salary, deductions, taxation,payslips, F&F;, reimbursements, etc.
- Support payroll audits, reconciliations and compliance checks.
- Identify payroll issues and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for resolution.
- Maintain payroll documentation and ensure adherence to defined SLA, timelines and quality standards.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and enhance client experience.
Preferred candidate profile
- 36 years of experience in Indian payroll processing, preferably in a client-facing payroll/BPO/payroll outsourcing environment.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end Indian payroll processes.
- Hands-on experience in managing payroll for multiple clients or large employee populations.
- Good knowledge of Indian payroll statutory compliances including PF, ESIC, PT, TDS, Bonus, Gratuity and Labour Laws.
- Experience in handling client queries, escalations and service delivery.
- Robust analytical and reconciliation skills.
