About the Role

APTA Automation is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in industrial automation, electrical control panel design, EPLAN and AutoCAD .

The ideal candidate should have strong electrical fundamentals and practical exposure to designing electrical schematics, control panels, PLC I/O systems and industrial automation circuits.

Key Responsibilities

- Design electrical schematics, SLDs, control panel layouts and GA drawings using EPLAN/AutoCAD.
- Prepare BOMs, Electrical FDS, P&ID; and technical documentation .
- Design control and power circuits for DOL, RDOL, Star-Delta, VFD and Soft Starter systems .
- Perform electrical calculations and select appropriate switchgear, cables and protection devices .
- Design and document PLC Digital/Analog I/O wiring and relay circuits .
- Select and verify electrical components based on operating conditions and applicable standards.
- Review existing designs for reliability, manufacturability and compliance.
- Update drawings and maintain accurate as-built documentation .
- Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and technical queries.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing and service teams for timely project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

- 4-7 years of relevant experience in Electrical Design / Industrial Automation.
- Hands-on experience with EPLAN and/or AutoCAD .
- Strong understanding of control panel design and wiring .
- Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and applicable standards.
- Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates from an Automation, Control Panel, Machine Building, Industrial Equipment or similar engineering background will be preferred.
- Candidates who can join immediately or at short notice are preferred.
