Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and agile Lead Solar Design Engineer to lead the engineering and design of utility-scale solar PV projects. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in Renewable EPC, with expertise in designing ground-mounted megawatt-scale solar power plants. This role requires strong technical leadership, project management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
Lead the complete engineering design of utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects from concept to commissioning.
Prepare, review, and approve detailed engineering deliverables, including:
Plant layouts
DC and AC system design
Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
Cable routing and cable sizing
String sizing and inverter sizing
Transformer selection
Balance of System (BOS) design
Earthing and Lightning Protection System (ELPS)
Ensure designs comply with national and international standards, client specifications,



and applicable electrical codes.
Solar Plant Performance
Perform energy yield assessments using PVsyst.
Optimize plant performance by improving Performance Ratio (PR) and reducing system losses.
Conduct shading analysis, generation estimates, module orientation studies, and plant optimization.
Evaluate technology options to maximize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Project Engineering
Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for ground-mounted utility-scale solar projects.
Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, procurement, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Support tender engineering activities, technical proposals, and design optimization during bid stages.
Resolve engineering challenges during project execution and provide timely technical solutions.
Technical Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of design engineers and CAD professionals.
