About Gigbox:

Gigabox is a 60-minute delivery-led omnichannel retail platform for general merchandise, seamlessly bridging online and offline shopping to deliver a unified " App Bhi, Store Bhi " customer experience. We operate category-dedicated branded stores - spanning Kitchen, Sports, Toys, Bags, and more that are fully integrated with our iOS and Android apps.

Our core USPs include 80-90% product assortment availability, a true touch-and-feel in-store experience, and fast local delivery within 60 minutes . Within eight months of launch, we achieved over 7 crores in cumulative revenue, attaining both store-level and company-level profitability.

We currently operate two large-format stores in Jodhpur, Rajasthan: The Gigabox Kitchen Store (4500+ sq. ft.) and Gigabox Sports Store (4000+ sq. ft.), both launched-on 10th Nov 2025.

We are actively expanding with two additional Jodhpur stores for Toys and Bags, scheduled to launch in September 2026. Backed by 7 crores raised across two funding rounds in our first year, our current ARR is 15 crore and is projected to reach 30 crore post-expansion.

Our overarching vision is to build India's No. 1 general merchandise platform across the top 50 cities by launching 700 stores over the next 5-8 years.

About the Role The traditional model of siloed project managers, designers, and engineers is too slow for modern AI-native development. At Gigabox, every engineer owns a product outcome end-to-end, from idea to prototype to production to scale. You will operate as a Team of One. With AI tooling knowledge and strong engineering infrastructure, a single engineer can now build what previously required an entire squad.

We're hiring a Senior React Native Developer to build and own our customer-facing quick-commerce app. The primary face of Gigabox for lakhs of future customers. You'll be responsible for building a world-class shopping and delivery experience at par with the best quick-commerce apps in India (Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy, Zomato).

You'll spend most of your time on app architecture, buttery-smooth UI performance, real-time order tracking, and deep integration with our backend APIs. You'll have complete ownership of the mobile app from feature development to Play Store / App Store releases.

System Overview

At Gigabox, we have multiple systems working together to ensure smoothness of operations and business. We have an ecommerce app for customers, internal systems to manage entire operations and inventory, in-store POS, and a delivery system for delivery partners. You'll own the customer-facing mobile app built on React Native (iOS & Android), consuming NodeJS backend APIs, with real-time features powered by WebSockets, push notifications via FCM/APNS, and AWS-based infrastructure behind it all.

Responsibilities

- App Development: Build, maintain, and scale our React Native app for both iOS and Android from a single codebase
- World-Class UX: Deliver a fast, fluid, 60fps shopping experience, smooth scrolling product catalogs, instant search, snappy cart and checkout flows
- Performance:



Optimize cold start time, bundle size, memory usage, image loading, and list rendering for low-end Android devices and slow networks
- Real-Time Features: Build live order tracking, delivery partner location on map, and real-time order status updates using WebSockets
- Push Notifications: Implement and manage transactional and promotional notifications via FCM and APNS with deep linking
- Payments & Checkout: Integrate payment gateways (UPI, cards, wallets, COD) with reliable, failure-safe checkout flows
- API Integration: Consume REST APIs efficiently with proper caching, retry logic, offline handling, and optimistic UI updates
- Releases & OTA: Own end-to-end release cycles on Play Store and App Store, including OTA updates (CodePush / Expo Updates), phased rollouts, and rollback strategies
- Quality & Monitoring: Track crashes, ANRs, and performance via tools like Sentry/Firebase Crashlytics; keep crash-free rate above 99.5%
- Incidents: Debug production issues, hotfix fast, and record incidents to avoid repeats
- Git & PR Reviews: Review PRs from junior engineers and enforce coding standards followed in the organization
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to ship features end-to-end

Requirements

- 3+ years of professional experience building and shipping React Native apps to production (both iOS and Android)
- Expert in React Native, TypeScript, and modern React patterns (hooks, context, memoization)
- Strong knowledge of AI usages in coding like Cursor, MCP
- Strong experience with state management (Redux Toolkit / Zustand) and React Navigation
- Deep understanding of mobile performance optimization;FlatList/FlashList tuning, re-render control, Hermes, bundle optimization
- Hands-on experience with WebSockets for real-time features (live tracking, order status)
- Experience with push notifications: FCM, APNS, deep linking, and notification handling in all app states
- Experience integrating Google Maps / location services (live tracking, geofencing, address selection)
- Experience with payment gateway integrations (Razorpay / Cashfree / UPI intent flows)
- Working knowledge of native modules and able to read and write basic Swift/Kotlin when needed
- Experience with app releases for Play Console, App Store Connect, signing, phased rollouts, and OTA updates (CodePush / Expo Updates)
- Experience with crash and performance monitoring tools (Sentry, Firebase Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring)
- Strong understanding of REST API integration, caching strategies, and offline-first patterns
- Experience with CI/CD for mobile - GitHub Actions, Fastlane
