Role Description The Senior Android Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced Android applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.

The consultant will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and backend teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, implement recent features, and optimize existing code. Day-to-day activities include reviewing architecture and design, performing code reviews, troubleshooting complex issues, and guiding teams on Android best practices and modern frameworks. The role also involves mentoring junior developers, contributing to technical documentation,



and staying current with evolving Android tools, libraries, and platform updates to recommend improvements.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Android application development using Java , including Android SDK, Android Jetpack components, and common architectural patterns (MVVM, MVP).
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integration with backend services, as well as knowledge of networking, data caching, and offline-first application design.
- Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, Material Design guidelines, and responsive layouts across multiple device types and screen sizes.
- Hands-on experience with testing frameworks, debugging tools, performance tuning, and code quality practices (unit testing, instrumentation testing, CI/CD pipelines).
- Familiarity with modern development tools and ecosystems, such as Android Studio, Gradle, Git, dependency injection frameworks, and third-party SDKs.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, provide architectural guidance, and mentor team members in Android engineering best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and substantial experience in senior or consultant-level Android roles.
- Experience in building scalable enterprise or consumer-facing mobile applications for sectors such as finance, healthcare, or telecom is an advantage.
