We are looking for an empathetic and skilled Oncology Counselor to support patients and their families throughout their cancer journey by providing emotional, psychological, and treatment-related guidance while coordinating care with the medical team.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Counseling
Counsel newly diagnosed cancer patients and their families regarding the treatment journey.
Provide emotional support and help patients cope with the psychological impact of cancer.
Explain treatment plans, procedures, expected outcomes, and possible side effects in simple, understandable language.
Address patient concerns and ensure they feel informed and supported throughout their care.
Treatment Coordination
Coordinate appointments for consultations, chemotherapy, investigations, and follow-up visits.
Work closely with Medical Oncologists, Nursing staff, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
Assist patients in understanding their treatment schedules and required documentation.
Ensure timely follow-up with patients undergoing treatment.
Patient Relationship Management
Build trust and maintain long-term relationships with patients and caregivers.
Respond to patient queries via phone, email, or in-person interactions.
Ensure a positive patient experience by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate counseling records and patient interaction notes.
Update patient information in the Hospital Information System (HIS) or CRM.
Prepare daily and monthly reports related to patient counseling and follow-ups.
Coordinate with the billing and insurance teams whenever required.
