General Position Summary:

Make an impact with our National Tax Services Group as a Senior Accountant. This diverse team of professionals provides best-in-class industry and technical expertise to internally drive the success of our Tax practice. As a trusted advisor, you’ll work internally to support the delivery of tax services, the development and coordination of key training programs and materials and the communication of tax matters.

MNP Spark is like any other MNP region/office - front facing, client focused but working with all of MNP regions in Canada to deliver services.

Responsibilities:

· Assist with compilation, bookkeeping, and tax engagements

· Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions

· Set-up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and complete administrative planning

· Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process if needed

· Maintain, monitor, and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and intercompany

· Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions

· Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments, and installments

· Work collaboratively with the client engagement team

· Liaise with clients on administrative matters and provide functional advice to other team members

Requirements

Qualifications

Skills:

· Experience preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax

· Working knowledge of accounting processes and principles

· Experience working with accounting and tax software

· Proven client service skills with a robust ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information

Education Qualification:

- Bachelor of Commerce

- Masters or Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent experience

Certifications:

· Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program is considered an asset

Experience:

· 3 years of relevant tax practice experience preparing personal and corporate
