Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Electric Motor Design Consultant to support our engineeringteam on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in the design anddevelopment of energy-efficient induction motors and will provide technical guidance for new productdevelopment, performance optimization, and cost-effective design improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and optimize IE3, IE4, and IE5 energy-efficient induction motors.
- Develop and validate electromagnetic, mechanical, and thermal motor designs.
- Review and improve existing motor designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, andcost optimization.
- Support new product development from concept through prototype and production.
- Guide the engineering team in design calculations, material selection, and testing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as IS 12615, IEC 60034, and customerspecifications.
- Analyze test results and recommend design improvements.
- Assist in solving technical issues related to manufacturing and field performance.




- Mentor junior design engineers and establish design best practices.
- Participate in technical discussions with customers and suppliers whenever required.

Desired Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15–25 years of experience in electric motor design.
- Proven experience in designing energy-efficient induction motors (IE3/IE4/IE5).
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic design, thermal analysis, insulation systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with motor design software and CAD tools will be an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with OEM customers is preferred.

- Remote with occasional visits to our manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, as required.
- Consultancy fee will be commensurate with experience and expertise.
