Role Description The Scratch AI ML Tutor is a full-time remote role focused on teaching foundational coding and introductory AI/ML concepts using Scratch and related visual programming tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering live online lessons, creating age-appropriate projects and exercises, and adapting teaching methods to different learning styles and levels.

The tutor will guide students in building logical reasoning, problem-solving, and computational thinking skills, while fostering curiosity and confidence in technology. Additional tasks include monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, collaborating with the curriculum team to improve learning materials,



and maintaining clear communication with learners and guardians as needed.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Scratch or similar visual programming environments, with the ability to design engaging, project-based coding lessons.
- Foundational understanding of AI and machine learning concepts suitable for introduction to school-age learners (e.g., patterns, classification, simple models).
- Experience teaching or tutoring children and teens (ages 5–18), with skill in managing virtual classrooms and keeping learners engaged.
- Clear, patient, and encouraging communication skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas in simple, age-appropriate language.
- Ability to plan lessons, structure learning paths, and assess student progress using goals, rubrics, or similar frameworks.
- Comfort with online teaching tools and learning platforms, including video conferencing, collaborative whiteboards, and learning management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical teaching and coding experience.
- High level of professionalism, reliability in a work from home environment, and a genuine interest in empowering young learners.
